My Bitglider
I had always dreamed of having a reallysmall rc glider, then when I saw this thread, it was the last straw and i hadto build one. I live in a dorm and don't have a car, so I had to work with whatI had as far as materials were concerned. I begged the lady behind the counterat our dining commons for a few styrofoam "take home boxes" the nextlunch and got right to building. The tail boom is a 1/16" fiberglass kitespar I had from another project and the electronics are from an rc Hum-v bitcarI picked up inpulsively at a Frys. It uses a pull/pull rudder control systemwith the car's motor as the "servo." It glides well, but the range ofthe tx/rx is only a few feet; maybe I'll try another car's components on mark2 in hopes of better reception abilitys andperhaps add a motor for up/down as well. The whole glider was built using only1 and a half styrofoam boxes!

3: Everything ready to go with a pen for sizing.
4: In addition to flying well, this thing is just cute. The camber at the LE ofthe wing is from cutting the panels to include a little bit of the curved edgesof the box. This gave it a great looking airfoil shape. and
5: Zoooom! She flys at a running pace, so I need a little bit bigger a flyingspace than my hallway, but boy dose she go!
