The superfast Diabolo The Diabolo-S is a pure high speed model without compromise. Because high speed pilots are rare there will be a limited production of 50 helicopters, with ongoing support thereafter.
Aerodynamics and a minimized cutting area similar to Formula 1 cars was the center of development and engineering for the Diabolo-S.
The Diabolo-S is the most extreme speed helicopter available today with its very narrow fuselage and efficient aerodynamics. The nose is extremely aggressive and the complete fuselage is shaped like a knife, minimizing air resistance like an airfoil for tilting flight angles of up to 20 degrees. An angled rotor in relation to fuselage center line significantly improves the starting, landing and hovering characteristics of the helicopter. The Diabolo S was designed for FAI style speed flight over the 200 m distance where perfect aerodynamic besides a perfect flight curve is most important. The Diabolo-S is extremely narrow and not all ancillary components available on market will fit in the fuselage. The standard Diabolo mechanics is used in the Diabolo-S with CF frames and other component modifications which are included in each kit. To insure mechanical integrity of speed flight the spindle was enlarged to 10mm and the blade grips and bearings were enlarged in the same way.
